Project name: Barn on the Pemi

When Alex Ray, founder of the Common Man family of restaurants, was given a “free” barn, he couldn’t resist.  Problem was, this barn, one of the oldest in the state of New Hampshire, was fully erected and located in Canterbury.  Phase I of what was to become the Barn on the Pemi involved numbering all sections/planks from the barn, dismantling it, inventorying it, and trucking it to Plymouth.  Then through creative and professional design and construction, Alex’s vision was transformed into a functional, energy efficient, code compliant 12,000 square foot function facility that looks and feels like it was originally, one of the oldest barns in the state.
