Project Information

Description: Making a library 122% larger is a big deal, especially when the existing library consisted of only 2,600 square feet.  The library addition was 2,500 square feet, while renovations of 1,000 square feet of existing space was also completed.  As one of five structures in Holderness on the National Register of Historic Places, melding the old and the new brought many exciting changes to this building.  While new features such as natural lighting, modern electrical and mechanical systems and a two-stop elevator add to the functionality of the library, the design of the addition was careful to maintain the historical feel of the existing portion, including the curved checkout desk which was built from reclaimed wood paneling removed during the expansion project.Location: Holderness, NHBudget: $680,000
